Residents on Opsund are without water – NRK

– Opsund will be without water when inhabitants wake. It comes close to 100 people, says Jan Stordal overriding duty in Sarpsborg municipality.

He says it went 3,000 cubic meters of water from the waterworks and the clock five thirty were forced to close the height pool at BATERØD and water supply to Opsund.

According to Emergency Fire East, portions of Hafslundsøy be without water due to the closure.

Asking people fill water with acquaintances

He daren’t estimate how long residents on Opsund being without water.

– I dare simply not say because the leak was so great, but I encourage people to drive to Thu Bekk, BATERØD or people they know to replenish water in jugs and buckets, he said.

Stordal initially thought the leak would affect nearly 2,000 people, but say they have now managed to limit water leakage considerably. There are now almost 100 people without water in the morning hours, and most live in Grimsgaard Route.

The municipality sets up a water bong of 1 or 2 cubic meters, but it will not help much.

– There will not possibly make anything, and we encourage people to acquire water through acquaintances. I can not remember having had such a hefty water leakage in the area here before, he said.

Do not know when the water is back

The municipality was notified of the leak in 02 o’clock in the night but has not yet been able to locate exactly where the break is.

– We are working to locate quarry to get it repaired as soon as possible. If we find other ways of supplying water to the citizens, we will notify them about it, ‘said Stordal.
