Following the launch of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, it has emerged allegations that battery life varies widely. Some have even begun to use the term “battery gate” about the situation.
The reason for the variation is to be the main processor, A9. It is designed by Apple, but produced two different locations of two different companies. The one manufacturer TSMC, while the other is Samsung.

TechCrunch points out, however, that other factors also recording on battery life and it’s not necessarily the case that two mobiles with identical types of components have identical battery life.
New with two manufacturers
The reason why Apple has got two different companies producing processors for their new mobiles, may simply be that they need more pieces than one company can produce.
But there are also those who believe that Apple has signed an agreement with the Taiwan-based TSMC for To reduce its dependence on its traditional manufacturing partner Samsung – which after all is one of the company’s competitors.
It was the site Chip Works who first found out that A9 chips had two different manufacturers. Samsung version of the chip is slightly smaller than TSMC edition.
According to Ars Technica, there were rumors that Apple used both Samsung and TSMC to produce their previous processor generation too, but it has not been confirmed.
