Windows 10 is the best version ever – ITavisen.no

TEST: But it’s also easy to see what could be improved. (Video)

Microsoft has saved Windows with elegance, but should also have saved themselves for pettiness .

Sure, Windows 10 is good
There were many of us who cling to Windows 7 because we could not stand Windows 8 interface . Now Windows 8 people meet us half way – it’s almost impossible not to believe that this interface is better, especially on touch devices. Everyone seems to agree that Windows 10 is the best solution.

Besides, Windows 10 made us happy in an HP laptop with touchscreen . Exactly this is Microsoft’s hope: to get people to love Windows computers again.

We have many months tested Windows 10 on a desktop Intel Core i5 machine with Nvidia video card, and this tactile laptop from HP. We have been extra happy in computer after Windows 10 was put in place. ITavisen

HP Spectre x360-laptop acts as tablets in theory … ITavisen

Unfortunately, we also use the touch panel more because trackpad-en is still not as good as on the laptop from Apple. ITavisen

The little things
On HP x360 Spectre increases Microsoft size limit sat by 150 percent. Why? To make it easier to use the OS with your fingers, and it helps. Microsoft had not thought of that little detail would probably many buy seekers dropped to act a Windows laptop for a short demo, because we tested with standard size, but the interface was too cumbersome small for our fingers.

The look in Windows 10 synchronized between all Windows the devices your. Regrettably, no Start menu the same. We realize that not all programs on all machines, but tens could the investigated machine for you and just laid shortcuts to programs and applications that are installed.

Back to something positive: Reset function we are very fond of. It’s perfect to correct mistakes if you do not find out what makes mischief, or to make the machine prompt again after installing too much over a long time and not cleaned well enough by itself. Function erases all the programs, but taking care of personal files. Do not take it long time either. Also, there is the lovely not having to look for USB installation media for hours.

Before we forget it: You can reach last browse the applications even if they are not in the foreground and uninstall apps and programs from the Start menu by right-clicking.

Not only does Windows 10 better than any other version of Windows, the OS are also gratified with useful information. ITavisen

The program guide is better than ever, and there is built-in support for virtual desktops. ITavisen

Xbox on your PC
This is one of the best features of Windows 10. Do not have a powerful enough gaming PC, you can stream games from Xbox and PC.

Here, Microsoft may also little chance of cannibalizing its own market by giving people an opportunity to avoid having to act a new video card. The graphics are obviously not as good as on the PC, but surprisingly good. Whatever it’s going support for PC to Xbox gaming soon.

Edge and other disappointments
Metro control panel has many links on to the traditional control panel settings. Why? Now remove the old control center, or decide for what is best.

We do not quite know what to say about Edge. It’s probably a browser. The biggest problem is that it does not do anything better than other browsers except that JavaScript performance is very good, but the difference is noticeable to the average user?

Edge seems unfinished. For example, we do not go back a page with a simple touch gesture one in Chrome. It’s completely absurd: Google browser is not designed for touch, while Microsoft’s new Web browser included with operativystem that are supposed to use on touch devices. Sharpen.

Moreover, it lacks support for something as simple as charts in Google Analytics. This is not a problem for most, but for us to wonder about not others other services are affected by the lack of basic functionality.

The new control panel works fine … ITavisen

.. why should you get free of this. ITavisen

apps
> Windows Store is still a meager experience, like your mobile. It is impossible to understand why because Windows has the largest software ecosystem in the world, but apps ruler, and Microsoft apparently failed to convince developers to add apps to their store in Windows.

Maybe because it is a requirement that they should be touch-friendly? There are certainly several reasons, but we notice that VLC (which the store called “VLC for Modern Windows”) is one of the few popular and serious free program that exists in the store (with a new touch interface).

As to games, Microsoft has announced that there will be more big games to Windows Store. Hopefully this will be a growing trend.

The new weather news and email apps to Microsoft’s fine, but e-mail app contains some crappy wrong – moreover, these modern apps refuse to open up after Having been inactive for some time. They must be closed and then opened again.

Windows Store unites all entertainment, but it still lacks a quality selection of games and apps. ITavisen

Privacy
> Windows 10 does not score high on privacy, nor is it something that is highlighted on the website. Note also that safety deficiencies as one of the main selling points: “ It is well known, it is productive, it is flexible, it is personal .” We realize that they will not talk so loudly about privacy.

Microsoft could easily stocked up important points by not ad-pursue you, pay attention to what you write and do not share your WiFi network your entire contact list Network and what’s the deal with that users must make Microsoft job of sharing Windows 10 installation, updating and apps with the rest of the network – this should be Microsoft’s job solely.

Windows 10 is somehow free, but as with Google’s services is the product of these companies, but when you also need to distribute the product for them, then it starts getting a bit too much.

We hope that there will be more business in the future that allows us choose whether to pay or not (Apple’s existence is not the mess that they have to make money on you after that you bought something from them), and if we pay, stays away from the contents of the computer and obviously not serve targeted advertising or persecute and spy on other creative ways.

Read also: This know Windows 10 if you – so turn off the ad-tracking.

We love how small changes needed to make the interface again. ITavisen

A somewhat brighter variant. ITavisen

Conclusion
> Microsoft is downwind now with good vibes from Windows insiders who beta-tested the OS for eight months, and the fact that we can see the outlines of an ecosystem which is in the process of really add value (Xbox One games on your PC and the other way).

It’s been fun to follow developments. We noted that while early test versions were stable. It is therefore not surprising, but nice to see that the country sufficiently steady. It’s annoying defects here as in all products, but they are not so serious that the product as a whole do not rejoice, for it makes it real.

The biggest hurdle for new Windows dominance is that they has succeeded so badly with mobiles that they can hardly be regarded as a player. An important part of the ecosystem puzzle are still missing.

+ Start menu is back and better than ever
+ At least as fast as Windows 8.1
+ Kjempefin on hybrid machines with berøringsspanel
+ Free! *
+ Power Xbox games to your PC!
+ Play is going to be noticeably faster forward
+ Very robust driver support
+ Continuous updates
+ Windows 10 kernel can be found on mobiles, tablets, Xbox One and HoloLens – potential of the ecosystem is enormous
+ Does not require powerful hardware than the two predecessors. Windows 10 has
same minimums as six year old Windows 7

* – In exchange for ads and that you share Windows 10, applications and upgrades (can be disabled).
– Parts Windows installation, updates and apps with the entire network automatically if you do not opt-out
– Still a bit unfinished
