Troms among the counties with the lowest unemployment – People magazine

Unemployment in Troms remains stable.

FINNSNES: Unemployment in Troms located at end-August of 2.4 percent. It is unchanged compared with last year, and the third lowest unemployment rate in the country.

2,100 people were registered unemployed in Troms August. There are 34 more than the same time last year. Unemployment goes up slightly in Tromso, Lenvik and Harstad. At the same time unemployment fell in many of the other municipalities, writes NAV in a press release.

– Although a few more have become vacant, the tendency is still that the labor market is fairly stable. When we get the figures for September, we will know more, says county director Stein Ruda NAV Troms.

The cod had in August, the highest unemployment rate with 7.1 percent, while Ibestad had the lowest unemployment rate with 1.1 percent. Tromsø had 2.4 percent, Harstad 2.6 percent and Lenvik 2.1 percent.



Fewer advertised jobs

There is a general decline in demand for labor. This month it was announced 439 job vacancies in Troms, which is a decrease of 10 percent compared to the same time last year.

– Research shows that about six out of ten jobs are not advertised. That means many get jobs through networking, friends and acquaintances. That businesses are now using social media to recruit people can contribute to the “gray” labor market becomes more visible, says Stein Ruda.



Most vacant retail sales

Most job s category retail and sales, where 264 are vacant. Then follow the travel and transport with 233 vacant and industrial services with 217 places available. The largest percentage increase in unemployment is within the engineering and ICT subjects, where it is registered 126 job.

It is the fewest unemployed among managers (16 people), in academic careers (34 persons) and among brokers and consultants (36 people).
