Claims solution is simple

He is pleased that the Danish police have taken action against those who have paved the way for Popcorn Time in Denmark, but says that it is difficult to identify those behind.

– We have the IP address to thousands of Popcorn Hour users, but has not yet managed to identify some facilitators. It is not even certain that they are such in Norway and Popcorn Hour is a program we can not report to the police, says Johansen, who has not believe that the Norwegian police will start an investigation on its own initiative.

Johansen believes the best solution rather imposing bredbåndstilbyderene blocking traffic.

– It’s easy, and we believe that the Ministry of Culture after having determined that the Popcorn Hour is illegal, they followed up to impose broadband providers to block Popcorn Time. Now we have to go to court, which is both time-consuming and very expensive process, says Johansen.

Working with revision of åndsverskloven

When asked what one thinks about the traffic blockage Rights Alliance proposes responds Ministry of Culture’s following in an email:

“In copyright law there is a separate chapter on measures at violations of copyright on the Internet. The licensees have the ability to identify who uses an IP address to copyright infringements. There are also provisions allowing licensees the opportunity to go to court to get prevent access to websites used in connection with copyright infringements. The Ministry is working on a revision of the Copyright Act, where everyone is given the opportunity to provide input. “
