Dinside.no: Do you also annoyed over the poor quality of the photos you’ve uploaded to Facebook?
This is because Facebook both shrinking images and compresses your files. The advantage is that the pictures are faster to load, the drawback here is that quality declines, sometimes substantially worse.
An image of 16 megapixels shrunk to 3 megapixels. Meanwhile compressed file size considerably – in our case from around 4 MB to 292 KB. In this process naturally has a lot of detail in the image disappeared.
So even though Facebook has no limit to how many images you can store there, never look at this as a backup your photos.
Upload in high quality
Fortunately, you can to some extent avoid the worst kvalitetetstapene. You can not do anything with the limit of 3 megapixels, but you can limit the compression by uploading images up to an album, and tick the box saying High quality.
The algorithms Facebook uses to reduce the number of megapixels does not always provide the best results. To avoid that Facebook do this, first open the image file in a suitable image program, and shrink to 3 megapixels itself.
Photoshop (Elements) often gives the best results, but free programs can often work nearly as well.
How to free
Here is the procedure via the free Paint.net, on a PC running Windows 10 explained in the text:
1. Open the image via File – Open …
2. From the menu, select Image – Resize …
3. Enter 2048 pixels in the field Width if there is an underlying image, or Height if a stationary image:
4. Save the image under a new name by choosing File – Save as … from the menu
5. In the box that pops up now, set Quality to 100 to ensure the best possible quality. Then press OK:
6. Now you can upload your photo album method described later in the article.

Worst with cover shots
Forsidebilder shrunk even more, specifically to resolution 851 x 315 pixels. In addition, file size be less than 100KB, to avoid that Facebook also compresses the file size.
Once again Paint.net help you.
1. Open the image you want to use as cover photo via File – Open … It must have a landscape format.
2. From the menu, select Image – Resize …
3. Enter 815 pixels Width field.
4. Save the image under a new name by choosing File – Save as … from the menu
5. In the box that pops up now, set Quality to the point where the file size barely come under 100KB:
6. Press OK. Now you can replace your cover photo with this image file.
To change the mobile and netbrett
Note that the steps listed above apply only from PC / Mac, the mobile must naturally into Facebook app settings.
On iPhone and iPad this is simple: Press the Settings- & gt; Kontoinnstillinger- & gt; Videos and photos , and then you just have to change the quality of video and image uploading.
On our Android mobile sees it does not appear that these menu options are available for the time being .
