Samsung launches bigger Galaxy S6 Edge – TU

Samsung launched new phones last night, and it was that awaited Galaxy Note series that would get late an update.

And quite rightly was Galaxy Note 5 showcased. This sequel follows the same old recipe with large screen and pen integrated into the cover.

The big surprise is that it does not come to Norway. In fact, it should not be sold in Europe at all. Note 5 is reserved for the American and Asian markets.

There is still hope, for in the process launched Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +. This is more or less the same phone, only without the pen. Perhaps just as well, since our experience is that this pen is not widely used in practice.

A larger variant

S6 Edge + is a sense, Samsung’s answer to the iPhone 6 Plus, although iPhone 6 Plus the was Apple’s answer to Galaxy Note and other big phones. Anyway, Samsung’s newcomer is a premium phone for those who want big screen.

The news has a 5.7 inch 2560 x 1440 pixel AMOLED display. The solution is the same as before. It can also be said about the rear camera, which features 16 megapixel resolution.

Samsung has equipped the phone with a åttekjernet 2.1 + 1.5GHz processor with support for 64 bit instructions. It is made with 14 nm manufacturing process, which should mean that power consumption is not too bad. This is the very same system chip used in Galaxy S6.

On the inside sits a 3000 mAh battery, and the phone supports both rapid charging and wireless charging. All you can expect it from a modern smartphone is otherwise in place.

Small Changes

The biggest changes from Galaxy S6 Edge is that IR light is removed, and that working memory is increased from 3 to 4 GB. The battery also got a capacity increase, then Galaxy S6 Edge has a battery of 2.6 mAh. This is like before nonreplaceable. Memory card is still not.

The external dimensions have obviously changed. The newcomer is 1.2 centimeters longer, and just over a half centimeters wider. The weight has also increased by 21 grams to 153 grams.

Otherwise, it is mostly the same software installed. Galaxy S6 Edge + running Android 5.1 as its smaller brother.

There are some changes in features that utilize the curved portion of the screen. You can now swipe inward to get quick access to your favorite contacts wherever the user interface you are.

In addition, there are now a range of apps here. It opens you swipe inward again. It is not entirely unlikely that these features pop up on Galaxy S6 Edge as well.

The large, but otherwise identical Galaxy S6 Edge edition goes on sale in Norway in September, with 32 and 64 GB of memory.

32GB Issue costs 8,000 kroner, while the 64GB version costs adults 9,000 million, according to Samsung.
