Two years ago drew Google veil of Chromeboox Pixel, a dainty machine, but with a stiff price (10,000 dollars in the US). Machine piqued the curiosity of many, but few would buy it.
Faster and more vigorous
Many thought perhaps that the animal Chrome OS machine was only a sprightly experiment from Google, but now the company has unveiled a new model. Thus already Chromebook Pixel become a model series.
Chromebook Pixel 2 comes with new and updated hardware through two different models – here they have partly focused on greater speed and power.
Still consists machine by a leak monitor, with an insane resolution of 2560 x 1700. The processor is upgraded to a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i5.
In design terms, there are few changes.
Is this a “dealbreaker”?
Many people have been excited about the price, in that first-generation machine hit reasonably hard on big drum with its price of $ 1,300.
Now it is clear that the new model will be slightly cheaper, but it can far from called cheap.
Chromebook Pixel 2 comes in two models, where the cheapest will cost $ 999, ie (8229 million by today), while the most expensive costs $ 1300 (10709 million).
Price Dropped is thus significant, but still it is a fact that the machine is quite expensive compared to the cheapest Chromebook one, which only cost 2-300 dollars.
USB charging
New Chromebook Pixel comes with two USB ports C. In comparison, recently announced Macbook only one such port.
Through USB C ports can both transmit data and video, in addition to charging machine. Since there are two ports, one can do more of these things simultaneously, while the Macbook can only do one thing at a time – or buy an adapter that makes it possible.
According to Google, the machine should have up to 12 hours of battery life. Another interesting fact is that only 15 minutes of charging should be able to provide the entire two hours of battery life.
Expand with SD card
Not so unexpectedly delivered machine with little internal storage. It’s also something of the point of such a machine – here’s the network that are in focus. In addition to 32 GB internal storage (64 in most expensive model) users get 1 GB of free storage through Google Drive. A new SD port also makes it possible to install more storage if you need it.
“Ridiculous speed”
Google expensive Pixel model named LS, which stands for Ludicrous Speed (Ridiculous speed, directly translated into Norwegian). Edition comes with a more powerful processor, namely a Intel Core i7 – in addition, it has 16 GB of RAM and 64GB SSD.

Myntet on developers
When Google launched Chromebook Pixel two years ago it was only in the United States. Nor sequel seems to come to Norway. Perhaps not so surprising – Google recently said that the machine is mainly intended for developers.
“This is a developer platform. It is mainly a proof of what we can achieve. We shall not make a lot of these. ”
