You put a USB device into a port, and presto, then melts computer components . It’s like something out of an American thriller.

But it is not just the film that this is possible, we believe the Russian website habrahabr.

On the website it has emerged information about a handmade USB device called USB Killer. The article is translated by website kukuruku and has spread like wildfire on various hacker forums and technology sites.

It is described (thankfully) not how USB device created, but we get to know how the concept works.

USB in disguise

Man construct one one USB device confusingly may look like any USB device. The difference is that USB Killer is pre rigged. When it is inserted into a port, it will trigger høyvoltsladninger providing to simply destroy the victim.

If this is just a joke, the scope is less than that produced, or whether it actually works so they claim, we know simply do not.

But it’s probably not the last time we hear about such technological mini bombs.
