It may be smart to check your propane tank at Easter.

Is it long since you’ve been in the cabin, you should look into propane tank. Accidents can occur by leaks, worn hoses and gaskets.

Precautions

Although there are more accidents with electricity than with gas, it is nevertheless important to follow a number of precautions to avoid unfortunate situations.

Kai Arne Trollerud safety officer in propane supplier AGA, emphasizes that there is much that is needed that goes wrong with propane.

– Propane is not harmless, but if you handle it the same way as the regulations say you are safe, he said.

One of the most important is to check the hose. Kinks or bends hose for cracks. All hoses should be orange and have a “best before” labeling.

– Fill a bucket of soapy water and check the hose in the same way as you check a bike length. Do the same with the links on gas equipment, says Trollerud.

Gas Odor

Do you smell gas or detect leaks, you should shut the gas supply immediately and remove the regulator. One must remove all sources of ignition such as cigarettes, open flames and electric tools.

Air thoroughly with open windows and doors and consider evacuation. One must maintain a minimum distance of 300 meters from the heat affected bottle.

– We recommend reading through propane sense rules, says Trollerud.

It is allowed to store large amounts of gas for personal use – 55 liters in unit and 90 liters in detached shed, garage and warehouse.

Nice holiday

– Although propane is safe to use, one must Always make sure the equipment is of good standard. Wherever you use propane, it is important to follow propane sense rules. If one treats propane bottle and equipment properly, one can go for a nice Easter holiday in the meeting, said Morten Roness in AGA. (ANB)
