Today (probably in the evening Norwegian time) you can download Apple’s new operating system for iPhone , iPad and iPod Touch.
You must remember
update is as usual in “Settings-Update”, but there are a few things you should keep in mind before you download and install.
First in, check if your device can run the new OS-a:
Supported Devices iPhone 4S, 5, 5C and 5S; iPad 2, both iPad models with Retina, iPad Air, both iPad mini models, 5th generation iPod touch and the 3rd generation Apple TV.
Clean up first
Then it’s smart to take a cleanup of memory, so you can free up the most space. For iOS 8 is probably voksnere than its predecessor iOS 7.
The correct amount of plastic it takes, we do not know yet. However predecessor demanded at least 700MB of storage and 3GB total for the installation process.
Check if everything is updated
Thus, it is smart to check if there are any apps you can spare, and remove (locally!) photos, videos and music synced via iCloud.
It is also important to check if all your apps are updated, or if someone is waiting to be installed in new versions. Most app developers have already received the iOS code, and it’s okay to make the most of this away before you install iOS 8.
Wait for the elderly
You are also a good practice to make a backup of everything on your phone or tablet before you get started. Sorry to lose things if something goes wrong.
Have an older device like the iPhone 4S or iPad 2, it may be wise to wait. For experience shows that it is old equipment that creates trouble for new iOS.
Apple tend, however, to capture these problems and fix them after a few days.
What can you then wait You? Here are the ten most important changes:
1) Integration: Continue what you’re doing on another device (writing emails, surfing the website etc.) the devices are on the same wireless network. Airdrop file sharing between iOS and OS X devices.
2) Health: New app measure everything from heart rate to cholesterol, blood sugar and sleep time (requires Apple Watch as well). In the future, such data could be transferred to your GP.
3) Keyboard: So far iOS devices only been able to use Apple’s own keyboard. Now they can also use third-party solutions such as Swype and Fleksy. In addition, Apple has made its own keyboard more like Android.
4) Messages: Finally, you can name the groups, not just list the names of those involved. You can also record and send video and audio recordings directly and share location data.
5) Photo / video: Time-lapse video, Managing on site they are taken, search the location, time and other kritrier makes it enkelre to retrieve photos and albums.
6) iCloud: M ange has been confused when it comes to synchronization routines to Aplples cloud. Now Apple makes it easier and more logical. For example, you can store your entire photo library in one place and download images on demand, without the more or less accidental synchronization.
7) Family Sharing: Up to six family members (accounts) can Now share what they buy in iTunes and the App Store. In addition, calendars and photos shared across accounts.
8) Apps talking together: Previously it so that every app was its own universe and did not communicate with other apps . Now developers can embed communication between different apps as needed, even if they stem from different companies.
9) Small Apps (Widgets): We already have mini-apps notification center, stock quotes, weather and brief version of the calendar information. Now, the possibilities for such “list in a hurry” app greatly expanded.
10) Voice Recognition / Dictation: The Personal Assistant Siri has got a lift and mimics now Google’s “OK Google” by saying, “Hey, Siri!” to it. Unfortunately it does not look as “she” comes in the Norwegian edition yet. However, there is a new, smart dikteringsfunskjon that actually works, and who understand Norwegian virtually perfect.
