Despite the increase is namely home sales so far this year 15 percent behind the level of the same period last year, according to figures from the Homebuilders Association.
– It seems as if the sales are on the rise, but we are still concerned about the initiation, says Per Jaeger, President of Homebuilders Association.
The decline in starts of new homes so far this year is 16 percent lower than the same period last year.
Homebuilders Association believes residential demand in Norway each year is 37,000 units, while the current rate of development suggests that only build 25,000 new homes per year.
Housing sales in August is 19 percent over the same month last year. Apartments have the largest sales increase of 34 percent in other words, while for small houses and villas, sales increased by respectively 20 and one percent.
The figures for housing starts shows that in the month of August is 10 percent behind in August 2013.
This year it launched 16 percent fewer homes than the same period last year. The largest decrease has initiation of apartments by 25 percent.
