Cash – a religious symbol for the Left – Our Country

Jonas Gahr Støre’s cautious opening for it in the future will be able to give money to one-year olds who do not attend kindergarten, has caused some to get up in arms. The very word conjures instant cash up visions of horror that equality is rolled back and the integration stops.

It could maybe help if you momentarily instead tried to imagine a child of one year. There is a child who is learning to talk and walk, and who has just begun to find their way in life. Oh should relate to a number of new adults and children in addition to his own family, is a challenge.

If this child is not going in the nursery before it is two years and has become a little more self-confident, it is difficult to see that it involves a threat neither to the child’s integration into society or the mother’s equality.

The cash benefit was originally launched as a support to those who would not have the baby in the nursery almost until school age. It was an ideological thought behind the choice for families, which collided with an equally ideological opposition to anything that could encourage women to stay home with the kids.

But this thought are dead and buried. Now, there are really talking about a kind of extension of parental leave. It is somewhat strange that politicians who fight for as long as possible parental leave, think it is reprehensible if it continues after the child is one year.

Therefore, Jonas Gahr Støre constructive thought: Make sure that the year-olds who do not attend kindergarten, get a financial support so that it affects their families unreasonable. Call it something other than cash if the purely ideological tastes better. It is quite unnecessary that such a scheme should be an ideological separator.

Those of us who were for cash benefits because we felt the families should have a real choice whether they would use the nursery, we’ve long since lost. The scheme is undermined by years of budget decisions. It’s not the kind support now all about.
