Therefore, I spent extra time on this Apple Watch review – ITavisen.no

Silicon Valley (ITavisen :) It surprised me.

Silicon Valley (ITavisen:) Apple has full control development of MacBook, iPhone, App Store and iPad – well established products that sell in spades and that has made the company one of the world’s richest, regardless of market.

Follow ITavisen in Silicon Valley.

Apple is looking for its new iPhone
But sooner or later sale of these products to stagnate. iPhone is already on the way there in the West. For this reason, Apple on aggressive courting of China where they could potentially tapping into hundreds of millions of Apple customers.

Still, the company will have to find the next big thing. The new product range which may one day be as lucrative as the iPhone.

The question I have often asked myself during test weeks with Apple Watch is whether I need it – the same question I received from everyone who saw us with it.

Everyone is very careful to say anything. They are simply not really sure if they need alert system. Many have not had a traditional bell at in many years, if not decades.

Is this just a product that is designed to give Apple more money, or is it healthy capitalist greed in combination with Jony Ive and Co. really believe that this time it makes your life better?

This is basically for our test of Apple’s first new product category for five years with Tim Cook as the supreme commander.

I ordered 42 mm. Stainless Steel model with black sport bracelet that many other Americans from Apple’s online store launch night. In early May, I received the product. Since then, the undersigned worn it from morning to evening.

I noticed quickly that I needed more time with this than other test products. It was initially difficult to define how it fit into our life.

Design
Apple Watch weighs a lot more than expected. It was the first thing that struck me when I wrapped it up from the (too large) box. However; It gives a feeling of quality Android bells I’ve tested is not near. No surprise in reason.

Apple’s products still radiates quality. Newest MacBook, and the clock, are two recent examples.

At the weigh slightly on the left arm link is unfamiliar, I’m not used to having a watch on his arm, but great it is.

Several times during test session I took it off us to squint at the details – not unlike the traditional bell-fanatics spends much of his spare time. This portends that Apple has learned a lot from them and are on the right path. The second generation is going to be much slimmer. There may be reason enough to wait a year.

I felt painfully self-conscious the first times I walk around with it, while I do not quite managed to not peek at it yourself.

I prefer watches with a circular face, but Apple designer not only for its appearance’s sake – they know that a square clock-face allows for much more information, and that it not be cut text. This in combination with the digital crown browsing interface and content, making sure your fingers do not block the small panel (42 mm. model is the obvious most popular, and I understand why. It is in fact smaller than you might imagine) .

It’s not that I do not like what I see when I look at it where it shines in pearly steel, but it’s not going to ignore that it is both fat and not just drool worthy as a mechanical wristwatch many classes of Casio G-Shock.

The face is black 90 percent of the time, but as with the iPhone 6 user Ive and his ingenious designers light around you to shape clock face thanks to the curved glass. Look at the watch from different angles; Light dances up and down along the edge, and krommer therein sapphire and steel meet. Delicious. It gives a new dimension to an androgynous design.

When it comes to clock face I want a wider selection. I chose to modify “Simple,” which Apple has christened it, to be yet easier – they dress at most.

The black sport armband quickly becomes very boring, but the other link I want costs $ 449. There are more than Apple Watch Sport ($ 399). I can not bring myself to pay $ 1,000 for an Apple Watch as it is now.

The biggest problem with the design is that it is too fat, which means that the long arm sweaters stop the clock. Swagger Basser will love that Apple Watch always seem, especially if they have acquired an early. I find it annoying.

user interface
interface has been discussed a great deal, and it’s no wonder. The problem is that the discussion has often been negative, and not without good points I agree.

It takes time to understand how those who have made the interface plan, but after about a week it will feel natural. All for a long time. Many, the undersigned included, enough colored by spending iOS very much, and this does not work like an iPhone, yet.

And, this I can not forgive: If you get two notifications simultaneously on Facebook Messenger you can not read any of them, but will have to pull up the phone. Only the number of alerts listed. Hopeless.

Speaking of alerts retrieved the forward by pulling down from the top, app widgets (Apple calls it “glances”, but they most closely resemble mini-widgets) pulled up from the bottom.

All notices deleted by pressing a little harder than usual in the notification menu (this is reason to get excited “Force Touch” on iPhone), while a click on the digital crown recalls the app screen. Where do I use the least time.

Two clicks on the digital crown brings back the most recently used app. Hold the same button and Siri activates. Unfortunately, she is still not in Norwegian, and neither is she talking to you. For Americans it’s nice to dictate messages, and this works fine, but for Norwegians, this feature is therefore not yet in place.

That it created a dedicated button for your contacts are strange. This should rather have been back-to-home screen button, if it at all should have been part of the design.

I never used plug connectors because I anyway want to answer their phone. Hold this button you can turn off the clock, activate the power saver (which only gives a green and ugly digital clock) or lock it.

use
The first days with Apple Watch was no a-ha experience.

Ok, so I can see what time it is – so what ..? It’s not just big innovation. Besides the the quite fat, and I can not find the apps I need to survive.

But eventually things fall into place. Not because it suddenly flooded with smart apps (developers have a great deal of work to do still), but because I suddenly one day wondering how mobile was.

To put it another way: I wondered not how mobile was before it had gone longer than normal. Why? Because I had the clock on me, and it had not warned me.

A dings on the bracelet is personal and could quickly become very fussy. Not Apple Watch.

I have a feeling I’m not alone in being manic this way: You hear an alert from your phone, find that it was nothing important, and ends up opening apps or surf for many minutes before something in you tells you that you really are wasting your time. Apple Watch has greatly reduced these moments.

And with its many different vibrations press one understands finally what type of notifications you get without hearing a single sound or to peek at the screen or mobile. I actually use the mobile less now with the clock on.

It is a great achievement in itself, especially when luxury problem can be eliminated by the company that has “blamed” that for many years I wasted a lot time on nothing.

Anyone who jogger knows how annoying it is to not be able to easily select a new song, check the clock or stop tracking your workout. An Apple Watch solves these problems. Moreover, the pulse monitor exact according to a series of tests, and after what I have experienced, but make sure it sit comfortably around your wrist when you measure.

Apps
It’s early clocks lifetime. So I think it gets much better as there will be more useful apps.

Our favorites so far are Uber, Hooks (great notification app), music controller, Apple Maps, Nike + and DNB’s app makes it very easy to examine balance.

List is not long for a reason: It’s alerts I use it the most. At least so app ecosystem and the clock works now.

All notices coming on mobile served on the wrist if desired. Want to turn off alerts or sound, is made from at or mobile – the changes reflected in both devices. It is very convenient.

iPhone
time is dependent on an iPhone for networks and to provide the main feature: Alerts.

You can store music locally (8GB) on it and take a trip out without iPhone (remember Bluetooth headset), but remember that the GPS feature does not work if you do it. Again, it depends on your mobile phone.

Most of the settings can be found on the paired mobile phone, and well there. The screen is the much larger. The main thing you do is set up the “Glance” you will have access to when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Map support is helpful. X-number of vibrations guides you to the right or left. You have to look at either clock or mobile. Again makes Apple’s own product that uses mobile their less.

The performance is good it except that startup applications that retrieve information from mobile user for a long time, and it makes all the third party apps. They have in fact not allowed to store the entire app on the clock memory.

Support for this comes later, and perhaps within it is launched in Norway (we still do not know when this will happen).

It is expected revelations at WWDC June 8. It will be interesting to see how this will affect battery life.

Do you take it off the wrist it requests the PIN code at once, but connected to iCloud account for increased security is not. That means thieves can reset the clock, and use it normally. Alessandro La Tona / ITavisen

Battery
how I use it, not the battery been a problem – in fact I have experienced having a little over 40 percent again at bedtime, and then I’ve been up for 15 hours. The time used to look at the time from time to time, but most of alerts.

If I had 60 percent at bedtime I might not charged it for the next day’s session, but as with mobile wishes I want to be absolutely sure. You never know what might happen the next day.

90 per cent of all owners will not have problems with battery life.

A typical day Apple Watch:

* 100 percent 8:30: In clockwise.

* 87 percent 10:00: jog for 45 minutes.

* 76 percent at 1413: Receives some forecasts, but otherwise it has been very actively in use the last two hours.

* 62 percent at 6:15 p.m.: Still small pro-active use.

* 52 percent 8:13 p.m.: Lite used and simultaneously alerts

* 42 percent 11:00: INSTALLATION and charging times.

Anke points
It took longer to get used to Apple’s first clock than any other Apple product I’ve tested, and I’ve tested all the last 6 years – it’s not just because they have never made a smart clock before. It would be easy to clean up when it’s interface software is the culprit.

There are few or no visual clues where to tap or swipe, and that one can remove all alerts by pressing hard on the screen, I found out by accident. “Force Touch” is baked into a variety of applications, but one must guess if the developer benefits from it, and how it is activated. Affordable hopeless.

That it takes up to several weeks to get used to a new Apple product is not luck, nor typical for them.

It is especially damaging because Apple wooing new customers with a smart watch. That it is a bit cumbersome to understand can get to be a big problem if they do not brennkvikt launches Apple Watch OS 1.1 with major improvements.

Safir screen can not handle sunlight as good as I had hoped for something that is extra noticeable when wearing sunglasses during the session.

Conclusion
name is ITavisen. We write about technology, but we can not stop there. Not anymore.

Technology is no longer something that is hidden behind a black box in the basement. Therefore, we have a relatively short time to think design and how it shapes the experience the new digital life delivers us.

All in all, this is a good product design and quality, but suffering from a bit of version 1.0 Flu. Things work fine, but is not completely where . Apple has even added the bar very high in the last decade.

I appreciate that Apple Watch knows what I make myself, in a hope to improve our health. Are you sitting too long, you get a notification to trip you up.

Are you too far away calorie burning goal you set when you first set up the clock, reminding the you sympathetic to move slightly. Are you really close to reach current targets, provides the extra-push as well. It’s almost a little cozy. It will sort you well.

It never gets annoying, even after several weeks.

App selection is huge, but there is no shortage on the real smart and great apps. This product is likely to be very much better in a short time. You may well wait until the second generation, but a major update of Apple Watch OS will probably do it much better before then.

Do you use your mobile a lot, exercising a little, and simply want a wristwatch Apple Watch a bargain, but only if you have an iPhone already, but just the fact that I want it on us every day, making it the market’s best smart clock.

It works namely not with Android . Therefore, it can quickly become too expensive for something you may not need.

It was hard for me to decide me for a grade. Four or five? Eventually I ended up on a solid four. I keep being happier in this clock, but due to some not entirely satisfying experiences when it comes to interfaces, app quality and app load time, I can not give fives now.

It may well be Apple’s first smart clock is an obvious fiver about a half years, but I can not rate based on assumptions about the future, no matter how sure I am that Apple sees his own mistakes and make them work.
