New app from Microsoft
Microsoft has now released its variant, also called Hyperlapse. The app is available for both Android and Windows Phone, but not yet for iOS, precisely because it was the two aforementioned operating systems that lacked such app.
The company uses advanced algorithms to stabilize the video and also recognizes faces in the video, so that they are kept as stable as possible.
Can be done on existing videos
Unique at Microsoft’s solution is that you can also redo an existing video to a timelapse video. This is done by reconstructing a three-dimensional camera path, and Microsoft’s algorithms provide so to fill in missing individual images in the video to make it as smooth as possible.
So you are not forced to use Microsoft’s app when you record video.
