– The trip started a little hard. We had slept in a tent not far from the Cape, and we had enough underestimated how cold it was at night in Northern Norway. When we got up in the morning we were cold and hungry, but had no frokotst. We asked some locals about the nearest store and they said it was five mil away, so then it was only to throw himself on the bike. The store proved, nine mil away, so we were very hungry and tired when we arrived, says Maria Igland
She and friend within Martine Chase Country has embarked on a very long bike ride. They will be riding the 2820 kg parameters from the North Cape in the north to Lindesnes in the south. They do so to raise money for dementia research.
On Saturday girlfriends come to Tromso.

Almost hit
To cycle along roads in the north has not been easy.
– It went very smoothly in Finnmark, but when we approached the major cities, traffic was more intense. Maria has almost been hit twice by trucks, says Chase Land.
Furthermore, girls cycling along the coast down to Lofoten. They intended to spend five weeks in the trip.
– As far as it goes according to plan. We cycle between eight and ten mil every day.
The nights are spent either in tents or in hotels.
– We probably spend more tents when it gets warmer. We are very fond of outdoor activities both, but right now it’s a bit cold to sleep in the tent.

– We have seen up close how dementia affecting people and want to help get more knowledge about the disease.
