The european crash test institute Euro NCAP has long since been the numbers for crash tests in our part of the world.
They have for many years had a great impact on how automakers build their cars.
top score from Euro NCAP is a feather in the hat, and often a very valuable contribution to the marketing of new car models. While bad results can be very negative.
Passed the exam
Now has the Euro NCAP just published the results from its latest round of krasjtester, where four cars have literally faced the wall.
The four is the Audi Q2, the Ford Edge, Hyundai Ioniq and SssangYong Tivoli.
The first three consisted exam, and got five stars. Just as well it was not for the SsangYong Tivoli. It ended on four stars. And a version of the Tivoli without the so-called security package that was also tested, managed just three stars.

– Interesting numbers
On a scale where 100 is the max, got the Tivoli 82 on the protection of adults, 61 on the protection of children, 65 on the protection of pedestrians and weak 43 on the security systems.
For comparison, see the figures so out of audi’s compact SUV Q2: 93 on the protection of adults, 86 on the protection of children, 70 on the protection of pedestrians and 70 on security systems.
– These are interesting numbers and show that there still are differences between the automakers. There are many places to talk about small margins, but nevertheless: All the new cars are not as secure. It is worth to take with you when you are going to buy a car, ” says Brooms bilekspert Benny Christensen.

Differences between manufacturers
– Why are there so large differences between the two car models as the Audi Q2 and the SsangYong Tivoli?
That probably has multiple causes, it’s about things like focus, resources, and priorities. Audi is part of VW group and have access to the best technology and some of the very best engineers in the industry.
– SsangYong is on their side, a small car manufacturer which are also dependent on selling their cars for less expensive than most competitors. They have far from the same resources as the giants in the automotive sector. It will necessarily give some impact and is enough to explain this result, think Benny.

All versions of the Ioniq is tested, including the electric vehicle and ladbar hybrid.
the Ford Edge came in at 85 points for the protection of adults, 76 on the protection of children, 67 of the pedestrians and the solid 89 on the security systems.

Hyundai Ioniq is an exciting newcomer and the interest is very big in Norway. Five stars was the result when it was tested by Euro NCAP
