Two big explosions in Istanbul – TV 2

There have been two powerful explosions in Istanbul, followed by shooting. At least 20 are wounded, informs the ministry of interior to Reuters.

Ambulances and fire engines have responded to the scene near the Besiktas stadium not far from taksim square.

Witnesses at the site said that it could be heard shooting in what is being described as an armed attack against the police. According to Reuters several Turkish opprørspolitifolk be seriously injured.

Turkey’s transportminister call it a terrorist attack.

Turkey’s interior minister Süleyman Soylu says that it suggests a bilbombe, and that it’s not yet confirmed dead, and that the injured are police officers.

A bus with riot police should have been one of the targets.

I heard two explosions, two sounds, and now ambulansesirener in the direction of the place, says the news agency AFPs correspondent.

the TV channel CNN Türk reported that police have blocked off an area near the Besiktas Vodafone Arena.

Witnesses must have overheard maskingeværild in the aftermath of the explosions.

Turkish authorities have laid down a ban for the Turkish media to relay information about the incident, writing Daily Sabah.

TV pictures show a lot of smoke and a large number of ambulances close by the stadium where Besiktas played the home game against Bursaspor on Saturday evening. The fight stopped at. 19.
