Several users have claimed that the new MacBook Pro with the characteristic “Touch Bar”-trykkeskjermen above the keyboard, not close to delivering the ten hours of battery life Apple promises.

Now, of course, battery life will vary with use, but tests in the us consumer organisation Consumer Reports has done, showed operating times all the way down in 3,75 hours.

Consumer Reports ended up therefore not to recommend Apple’s new McBook Pro models. It is the first time a MacBook has not been forbrukerorganisasjonens recommendation. A recommendation Apple often uses in its marketing.

More about the test and the methodology you can read here.

Large variations

Worth noting is that batteritidene measured the gap very, specifically, from 3,75 to the whole 19 hours. It is against the normal, which, according to the Conusmer Reports is a variation in the battery life on the 5 per cent.

Both the 13 – and 15-tommeren with “Touch Bar” was tested. It was also 13 tommeren without the new trykkskjermen.

13-tommeren was measured from 3,75 to 16 hours, the 15-tommeren from eight to 18,5 hours and 13-tommeren without the “Touch Bar” ranged in battery life from 4.5 to 19 hours.

Take.no mark on his side no significant problems with battery life when they tested the MacBook Pro 13 with Touch Bar. which may indicate that the batteriproblemet say the least vary.

– do not Match with Apple’s own tests

Apple would first not comment on the test results, and content themselves with sending an e-mail to Consumer Reports where they urged customers who have questions about to contact Apple’s customer service.

But at christmas went to Apple’s Phil Schiller out on Twitter and said that the results of Consumer Reports do not match with Apple’s own tests, and that Apple now has made contact with the Consumer Reports to better understand battery testing, writing by 9to5mac.

So it remains to see if Apple makes adjustments to the software and whether it will be enough anyway to get a recommendation by Consumer Reports.
