And that is exactly what this article is all about.
iPhone to iPhone
you Had the iPhone and got a new iPhone for christmas, this transfer is quite simple in iOS. You have basically two options – either to do it via iCloud or via iTunes, with cable to the PC.
iCloud
The most modern method, via iCloud requires that you have enough iCloud storage so that the old phone is hundred percent backed up.
Apple offers 5 GB without paying for it, while you get 50 GB for 10 dollars a month and 200 GB for 29 dollars a month. This space is shared across all Apple devices you have connected to the same iCloud account.
Although there is space for more than 5 GB on your phone, it may well be that it is sufficient, for the actual apps are not copied to the cloud; only the saved contents from them, as well as content such as photos and the like.
to ensure that your old phone is backed up, you can navigate to the settings, iCloud, backup. For the first have iCloud backup enabled, and is it the case, you can see when the last backup was made (this is done automatically when the iPhone is connected to WiFi and power source).
By pressing “back up now”, you can optionally force a new backup so that the iCloud has completely updated information.
Thus you can simply select “Restore from iCloud backup” when you start the new phone for the first time and choose the recent backup.
So the downloaded apps, photos and the like down on the new phone, and the time it takes will depend on how fast your internet connection presents you have at home. Messages, notes, contacts and similar will also be intact.
Via iTunes
About nor will keep your data innomhus, you can connect the old phone to the PC/Mac via the USB port and take a full backup via iTunes.
You connect it, start iTunes, and press on the phone name. On the overview page, it is then just pressing “displays the now” to create a backup of all the content.
Note that you will have to create an encrypted copy if you also want to have with sensitive content such as health and aktivitetsdata, password and that sort of thing. In that case, you must encrypt the backup with a password of your choice you must not forget.
When the backup is done (time will depend on the amount of content and how fast your computer is), you can disconnect it from iTunes, connect to the new and choose to restore it from the backup you just took.
not here, copied the apps, as they are being downloaded from the App Store in the next stage.
From Android to iPhone
Have you taken the step over in the Apple world, the company has made a handy Android app that allows you to transfer content from your Android phone to iPhone.
You can transfer pictures, messages, calendar appointments, contacts, bookmarks and Google account. Data in the apps is yet not transferred – not the apps you’ve purchased, since you have bought them from Google and not from Apple.
But the apps you have purchased on the old phone will automatically be added to the wish list in the App Store if they exist for iOS, so you can easily buy the ones you need on. When it comes to free apps, you get the offer to download them if the App Store has a similar app in the directory.
to get started, download the Move to iOS-the app on your Android phone and restart it. When you start up your iPhone for the first time, you choose to transfer data from Android. the iPhone then displays a code you must enter on the Android device, and then you can choose what to transfer and put in the time.
This happens wireless direct WiFi between the two phones.
(you Have already gone through the initial iPhone setup, you have to reset the phone and do the exercise again.)
From Android to Android
If you have got a new Android phone, there are several manufacturers that have provided software that allows you to move data from the old phone.
for instance, Samsung’s Smart Switch solution, where it comes with a small USB OTG adapter (on the go) that allows you to connect your old phone directly to the new; be it an Android phone or an iPhone. So, it is only to select what content you want to have over and put in the time.
Sony has on its side the Xperia Transfer mobile which also makes it equally easy to transfer images, messages and other personal content from the old to the new phone. This can also be used to transfer data from iPhone.
Both of these will also find similar apps in the Play store if they are available.
Huawei has made the app Phone the Clone, which works in a similar way. It also works against the iPhone, but not with text messages.
These solutions you will get usually request when you go through the initial setup of the phone.
If you do not receive such a request, when you go through the initial setup, you can use third-party software, for example, Cloneit (Play store, free). You install the app on both devices, select “receive” on the new and “send” on the old, and then you can transfer messages, photos, contacts, calendars, system settings, like WiFi passwords and more.
From the iPhone to Android
If you are switching from the iPhone, there is particularly one thing you should do first, and that is to disable iMessage on the old phone, so that is not it shows up imessages there, that you do not receive the new phone.
It is done via the settings, messages. Turn off the switch next to iMessage.
In the previous section, we wrote, among other things, that both Samsung and Sony have bundled software that allows you to transfer data from iPhone.
Should your phone be missing such an app, Google has a separate “switch to Android”page that shows you how you get your photos, music and contacts. It lacks the admittedly calendars, but where you can use the Google Drive app for iOS to copy kalenderinnhold to Google Calendar, which will be the service you are going to use on Android.
