The XPS 15 is a decent MacBook Pro”killer” – Tek.en

One of the nicer people when it comes to laptops, we have previously had with the Dell pro XPS 13 and XPS 15 machines. For a time back since it became known that the 13-tommeren got a solid upgrade, and now it is after all solemerker storebrorens trip.

There is, allegedly, Dell even that reveals the plans to upgrade the XPS 15 with the last cry on the prosessorfronten, namely with Kaby Lake-processors from Intel’s seventh-generation Core i-series and, not least, with the dedicated grafikkløsning from Nvidia’s Pascal-generation.

Nvidia GTX 1050-graphics

text has revealed, among other things, that Dell will offer yet unannounced GTX 1050-Nvidia graphics with 4GB of memory in their 15-inch. This chip, we do not know as much about yet, but it will probably give a notch better performance than the GTX 960M, the chip Dell uses in the current XPS 15.

What makes this very interesting is not its performance in the sell itself, but that the GTX 1050 thanks to Pascal architecture which it is based will certainly offer much better external characteristics of the machine, so that lower temperatures, far less noise and improved batteridriftstid when you play.

As the GTX 1050 for the laptop has not yet been announced by Nvidia this is probably the reason why Dell was so quick to pull the information from their website.

Intel Kaby Lake-processor

By the side of the GTX 1050-graphics to the XPS 15 come with the processors i3-7100HQ, i5-7300HQ and i7-7700HQ from Intel’s Kaby Lake generation.

Intel is expected to tell more about these processors during next year’s CES trade show in Las Vegas, where we are present from 3. January.

From the pictures to judge the keeps Dell still on the traditional USB 3 ports, and memory card reader also seems to live on.
