Windows 10 usage is still growing as the date for the big update is ready – digi.no

After a somewhat premature announcement yesterday Microsoft could today tell that Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be available on August 2 this year, a few days after the first anniversary of Windows 10. This is probably true for all devices with Windows 10, not just PCs.

most of the news in the upcoming update should be well known to most people, since they were presented by Microsoft during the Build conference in April. Expanded support for using the stylus (Windows Ink), support for extensions in Edge and improved Cortana is one of the great loves.

Grows still

Microsoft says now that the number of devices now running Windows 10 has passed 350 million. This is 50 million more than at the beginning of May and 150 million more than in December.

But there are many who for various reasons do not want to upgrade, but which nevertheless have felt more or less forced to do this. As digi.no wrote earlier today, this has resulted in that Microsoft must pay compensation of 10 thousand dollars to a woman for loss of earnings.

Letter pressure

Microsoft has received much criticism for the rather aggressive upgrade functionality thrust upon users of Windows 7 and 8.1. The company will now have chosen to curb this again, any Windows manager at Microsoft, Terry Myerson says to including The Verge.

Now it anyway just a month left of the period in which users of older Windows versions can upgrade for free to Windows 10. it is unlikely that those who have not yet been joined this, discovered it during the time that remains.

Many will still take the opportunity before it disappears. It is anyway possible to roll back again to the original version of Windows if you are not satisfied. One can always try Windows 10 again later once you have activated the license.
