The research company Smiliarweb have compared data from 2016 and 2015 that shows the time spent in Android apps for Facebook, Instagram, Sapchat and Twitter, newspaper VG reports.
The survey shows that the average daily time spent in apps for Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter fall. The result is perhaps surprising.
For nearly all of the countries included in the survey, so people used less time in the app in the first quarter this year than they did last year at the same time.
The analysis includes data from the US, Australia, Britain, Brazil, France, Germany, India, South Africa and Spain. Norway is therefore not included in these figures.
For Facebook app is drop biggest in Australia, where the average user spent 47.63 minutes in the app per day in the first quarter in 2015, while the figure had fallen to 40.03 minutes in the first quarter of this year . Americans still spend most time on Facebook app daily, with an average to 45.48 minutes. But this is a drop of over 48 minutes daily last year.
The largest falls one sees however for Instagram in Spain, South Africa and the United States, where people spent almost 10 minutes less on the app every day compared year.
