Axl Rose requires that Google remove his picture – NRK

Axl Rose does not like Internet, but the Internet loves Axl Rose.

Guns n ‘Roses frontman, who also is substituting as frontman for AC / DC, now demanding that Google remove a known photo of him, writes Guardian.

The image is from a Guns n ‘Roses concert in 2010, but is more known as a meme (see fact box) called “Fat Axl Rose.” Since the image was born for the first time it has gone sport in coming up with the funniest caption.

“Sweet pie o ‘mine,’ ‘Take me down to bakery city” and ” Mr. Coldstone “are among the most popular captions, playing at the singer had put on quite sharply before the aforementioned tour.

You mean the picture is his property

But now Rose had enough and requires that the image will be removed.

the image was taken by the Canadian photographer Boris Minkevich, and was first published in Winnipeg Free Press. Rose argues that all photographers of the concert signed an agreement, which makes images is Guns n ‘Roses’ property.

The photographer himself says that he does not remember whether he signed a such contract.

Google will not make any comment on the matter.

Hard Act

Basis Rose adds the requirement called the Digital Millennium Copyright Act or DMCA. The US law is from 1998 and has been a nightmare for anyone other than large company that lives by intellectual property.

Lawyers emitting a DMCA notice usually takes no account of whether a picture protected free use or not.

This means that all pages that use parts of a copyrighted work can be closed without playing notice. The struggle to get the material back is described as so hard and expensive that few are successful.

Rose still has not come up with any reason why this particular photo to be removed, although for many might seem overtly .

He is not alone in such cases. One of the most famous is Buzz Feeds picture of Beyonce from 2013, as the artist himself was very unhappy with.
