500 economy applicants

Missing educators
Quite new within university subjects, it is that so many now will become kindergarten teachers, but it has Beathe Sætveit, program coordinator for kindergarten teacher, a good explanation.
– there is a shortage of teachers with education, also here in Alta where there before has been a good supply of trained personnel daycare. One thing is that the missing people, another reason for the increased number of applications for our kindergarten teacher I think is that we have a good education, an education with good reputation and with skilled professionals who researches and are interested in their area. Our study has many employees with so-called first competence and also with doctorates. We work well with their practical experience and next year I expect that we will get a so-called university nursery here in Alta, in line with those they have at the schools, where some schools are closely linked to the university, says Sætveit. She believes this is also used to increase the interest in kindergarten education program which this year has 49 applicants, an increase of 27 from last year.

The figures from the coordinated admission is happy news for the university that has spread its wings in recent years.
