Developer legends John Romero and Adrian Carmack, who have given us games like Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D, released this week one Kickstarter campaign for Black Room – A first-person shooter that blends new gaming technology with old-style game mechanics.

the campaign requests under six million, an amount Romero admits that will not be enough to make the game he envisions. Instead, the campaign provide an indication of whether players are interested in the concept, and if the target price is reached will miscellaneous investors contribute the necessary financing.
