The creators of the original Doom has announced a new shooter – Gamer.no

Developer legends John Romero and Adrian Carmack, who have given us games like Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D, released this week one Kickstarter campaign for Black Room – A first-person shooter that blends new gaming technology with old-style game mechanics.

the campaign requests under six million, an amount Romero admits that will not be enough to make the game he envisions. Instead, the campaign provide an indication of whether players are interested in the concept, and if the target price is reached will miscellaneous investors contribute the necessary financing.

Black Room takes place in a future where highly realistic holograms has introduced a wealth of exciting possibilities for humanity. It does not take long before things start to go wrong, and when holograms leaking into reality will be your job to find the cause of the problems.

to solve the mystery, you must dive ever deeper in hologram meant surreal reality, and the deeper you move, the harder it becomes to distinguish fantasy from reality. Available has an Boxel – an artifact that can change your surroundings in hologram world – and a rich variety of firearms, which you must use effectively to protect yourself from gaming’s atrocities.

According to Romero offers Black Room on a number of elements that made his previous shooter popular, focusing on intense firefights and fast maneuverability of gaming character. The game boasts a single player campaign over ten hours and a multiplayer with three different modes.

Black Room coming to PC and Mac, and launch is currently set for winter 2018.
