New malware frames Android devices – ITavisen.no

Half of the units can be exposed.

Security researchers at Blue Coat Systems has discovered a new “drive-by” attacks that aim at older versions of Android.

Damage Item frames Android device without the user’s knowledge or downloading it down. Like other “drive-by” attacks this frame unit only when that user visits a website.

At the moment it seems that the attacks made through advertisements on some porn sites and they exploit several vulnerabilities found in the older Android versions.

Fortunately, it may prove to be easy to remove the malware, but even though it is not particularly malicious, it shows how easy it can be to frame units.

Can framework 4.4
Blue Coat Systems writes that malware attack Android devices running on OS version up to 4.3. Figures from Google show that nearly 21 percent of Android devices running 4.3 or older.

There is reason to believe that the 4.4 KitKat devices are vulnerable to this malware, but with utilizing the in another way, which makes makes over half of Android devices vulnerable.
