A state American security group advises the public to remove QuickTime from computers with Windows software to avoid being hacked.
QuickTime is one of several programs that make it possible for PC users to watch videos and other media files on computers.
the warning from governmental CERT comes after security manufacturer Trend Micro Enlightened that Apple will no longer update your firewall program, and that two software vulnerabilities can be exploited by hackers. The Council does not apply to QuickTime used on Apple computers.
Trend Micro adds that the company has not heard of any cases in which hackers have exploited weaknesses but still believes the best defense is to follow Apple’s advice and uninstall program from Windows-powered machines.
