Playstation 4K specifications leaked – Gamereactor Norway

The rumors around a new edition of Playstation 4 continues, and this time it’s about many of the items people have been skeptise to.

Sources Giant Bomb has talked to disclose namely including specifications of the console with the project name NEO:

CPU: 8 Jaguar cores at 2.1 GHz (the original has 1.6 GHz)
GPU: Improved AMD GCN, 36 cUs with 911 MHz (the original has 18 cUs 800MHz)
Memory: 8GB GDDR5, 218 GB / s (original has 176 GB / s)

They also reveal some other details people have questioned. Among other things, Sony may require that all games that come from October must have a “base mode” and a “NEO” mode while games released just before the time advised to have an update that does the same. Games running in NEO mode will be able to take advantage of the extra engine power, which among other things provides extra room for improved image updating and graphics. Sony shall, however, have emphasized that they should prioritize the graphic image update. NEO mode must namely always offer the same, or better, image update that base mode.

By having such hope Sony to not distinguish Playstation 4 and Playstation NEO-owners. Both the user interface and Playstation Store is scheduled to be almost dot equally and there will not be neither exclusive games or exclusive content to the new console.

Although all games to be launched by October must support both consoles does not mean that the console is launched by that time. This is more meant to ensure that NEO owners have plenty of games to enjoy themselves with when the console launches. There will also be several developers who have started working with updates to previously released games to exploit the extra power of NEO.

The only question, dare Sony to delay the announcement of the console, or they must just publish the pre-planned?
