In the latest edition of Posthornet says Dag Mejdell Posten that he believes the last postman may have been his final round within the next 15 to 25 years, Dagsavisen.
Now think Posten whether postman may provide other services in the future.
– People will surely need to get handed things back home or to work, maybe it will be more packages and deliveries, says communications director of Posten, Elisabeth Gjølme, the newspaper .
There will be more changes in Posten forward, among other things, the A- and B-mail will be a new two-day forwarding offers. Besides, the Ministry announced a competition of who should assume responsibility for the distribution of newspapers on Saturdays where it is not ordinary paper boy.
When the Internet became seriously available to most people, it was the beginning of the end for postmen scheme we know. FTEs for postmen has gone from 10,000 in 1999 to just over 6,000 today.
In 2000 it sold around 2 million stamps. Since then, the activity dalt and stamp sales are today halved.
