Danske developed program that tracks sleep habits of Facebook friends – ITavisen.no

Saying that the goal was to raise awareness of digital footprint.

Are you aware how many digital footprints you put on the web and in social media? Well, there are many. Very many.

Activity Data
The Danish software developer Søren Louvet-Jansen has developed a small tool that allows you to track the sleep habits of Facebook friends.

to make this possible, used Louvet-Jansen information directly from Facebook. Every Messenger user leaves timestamps by activity, and since so many people use Messenger before retiring and as soon as they wake up, it was easy for the Dane to extract some information. This only works on active users.

Facebook is no trailer
He has now published the source code on GitHub, so others can check out the tool. Dog is not Facebook as excited about the work of Louvet-Jansen.

In an interview with The Washington Post he says that Facebook has asked him to dissuade other users to test out the program when it breaks the social medium’s guidelines.

Over 1,000 people should have already downloaded the code, according to Dane, who refuses to remove it from GitHub.

– the idea mine was not spying on my friends. I want people to be more aware that they leave digital footprints wherever they go, says Louvet-Jansen to The Washington Post.
