If you are one of those that protect your Android phone with a password instead of using a pattern, then you might be a little more careful with the phone.

Security analyst John Gordon of the University of Texas has found that a widespread weakness in Android 5 easy to unlock a password protected phones.
This is done by copy as many characters as possible, open settings via the camera app, and then paste the long list of characters when the phone asks for a password. Something that will get the camera app to crash, and you are forwarded to the home screen.
Only tested on Nexus
Gordon writes that he found this out during a long beautiful drive in Texas.
– A few tedious hours of printing of all possible items on the screen, can do wonders when it comes to finding fault, says Gordon.
He says it only is tested on Nexus devices, but that he expects that work on other Android 5.0 devices as well.
Security analyst has also published a video showing how the hack works.
