Koeru: Possible successor to Mazda CX-5 – Dagbladet.no

Your page topic coupe-like SUV, there are several automakers that have taken hold in recent years. With this concept car, named Koeru, showing Mazda how they would like to treat it, by applying its distinctive design language, Kodo – or “soul of motion.”

This was introduced in 2010 with the spectacular concept car Shinari, and has, together with the more prosaic SKYACTIV technologies, been a key factor behind the success the small automaker from Hiroshima has had in recent years.

Will outdo themselves

Mazda is at all happy in using creative Japanese expression in their denominations and this concept car called Mazda Koeru. Koeru means “to exceed”. It need we probably will not comment further.

Upcoming production model?

We find it highly likely that car more than hinting at an upcoming replacement of folkesuven CX-5, which has been a huge success, not least in Norway and have done that Mazda has grown and has regained solid footfeste market in this country despite the absence of an electric car in the range.

Read here how the renewed Mazda CX-5 made it to duel against Honda CR-V

The only thing that speaks against this theory is that the car is as much as 20 centimeters lower than the CX-5 and thus can hardly qualify as SUV. Crossover to distress, as it undoubtedly is part SUV-like elements present in the idiom and the car otherwise has the aspect of classical combined with dynamic alignment. Mazda calls it anyway even “crossover SUV concept.”

As a lower and wider CX-5

The height of 150 centimeters is only two centimeters more than eg Ford Focus. The other dimensions of Koeru are as follows: 460 centimeters in length, the whole 190 centimeters in width and wheelbase of 270 centimeters. Both length and wheelbase is similar to the current CX-5.

So much more we do not know about the car other than that Mazda promises to have worked with aerodynamic improvement and reduction of noise and vibration compared to current production models. Otherwise loves the latest SKYACTIV technology that will vouch for light weight and efficient motorisation.

– This is a clear message to the competition in this fast-growing and highly competitive segment, according to final press release from Mazda.

Then we will see later what production vehicle this will culminate in.
