Cecilie G. Fencing is a PhD candidate at the University of Bergen and went all the way in Saturday’s final in Researcher Grand Prix with his stem cell research.
TRONDHEIM: The finals took place on Byscenen in Trondheim. The winner talked about how she uses stem cells to build new jaw bone.

The new bone becomes solid base for dental implants that are screwed in place, and suddenly life is considerably better living for these patients.
Just before the winner was to be revealed said Gjerde about Competition:
– It has been absolutely fantastic. I have never had higher levels of stress in my life, but I rarely had so much fun.

Disseminate research of four minutes
NADIA HASNAOUI led competition, where each of the eight participants were given four minutes each to communicate their research to the public. The three who were voted on to the gold finals got another six minutes to elaborate his theme.
The panel of judges consisted this year by the Rector of the University of Oslo Ole Petter Ottersen, director Marit Moum Aune and editor in chief of Adresseavisen Tor Olav Morseth .
Pro-Rector for teaching at NTNU Berit Kjeldstad was impressed by the quality of this year’s participants, and envied not judges the job of judging the candidates, and together with the audience find the worthy winner.
