Norway’s most sold car model get a ansiktsløft and technical upgrades. It also involves the expanded range of the popular e-Golf.
the Model is still easily recognizable, despite new front and hurdles. According to manager Anita Svanes at VW-the importer Harald A. Møller, is the first time since 1980 that the Golf will get a midtlivs facelift.
the First Golf came on the Norwegian market in may 1974, and through the more than 40 years and seven generations, it is recorded a total of 240.745 new Golf on the Norwegian signs – making it Norway’s most sold car model.

Faceliften includes kombiutgaven with three and femdører, station wagon, Golf GTI, Golf GTE and e-Golf that everyone gets a new front fascia with sharper lines. The engines are updated and a 7-speed DSG gearbox takes for each of the 6-step version, in the current model.
A completely new engine makes its admission in the occasion faceliften.
1,5 TSI Evo with 150 horsepower has a newly developed system that deactivates cylinders while the battery supplies power to steering and brakes when the car cruises effortlessly – a further development of the system that deactivated two cylinders in similar situations.
the Golf GTI performs in the new edition 230 horsepower (up from 220 hp) while the GTI Performance offers 245 hp (+ 15).

From xenon to LED
the Default lysutrustning is halogen with LED daytime running lights. Vehicles that were previously equipped with the xenon headlights get in the spot LED in the upgraded model. LED rear lights are standard.
Volkswagen has modernized and upgraded its infotainment system. The most advanced edition, with the 9,2-inch display, has a so-called “gesture control” first presented in the BMW 7-series, which means that it can be controlled with gestures without touching the screen itself.
Among the innovations in this class are also automatically emergency brake that detects pedestrians as well as Traffic Jam assist (which partially takes over the steering, brake and throttle at speeds up to 60 km/h) and Emergency Assist.

electric vehicle with extended range
in Parallel with the faceliften presented also the new e-Golf with a range of 300 km according to the NEDC-cycle (the current model has 190 km). In practice, says VW, it means the a range of 200-300 km in the summer and 150-200 km in the winter.
the battery Pack has a capacity of 35,9 kWh (up from 24,2) while the weight is kept unchanged. New e-Golf also has more power, 136 hp (+ 21) and higher torque of 290 Nm (+ 20). Thus, the cut 0-100 time of 9,1 seconds (10,4), while top speed increased from 140 to 150 km/h.
The new Golf models are going to Norway in march, with the exception of the e-Golf, which follows in april.
