Diesel has risen out of the sea from the Hydro – Port.en

Årdal: on Thursday there was a leak in connection with the removal of a dieseltank on Hydro’s plant at Årdalstangen, it goes up by a press release.

fuel used that gushed out of the tank has gone through oppsamlingskaret around the tank, via oljeutskiljer to the drain, and thence to the sea.

It is estimated that the leakage from the tank is around 2400 gallons of diesel, but it is not determined how much of this that reached the sea. It is laid out oljeabsorberande booms to gather up fuel used in the sea and Hydro are working to remove the remnants of which still lies in the drain system.

Årdal Municipality, the Norwegian coastal administration and Miljødirektoratet is said about the incident.
