This Easter, data gathering for the twentieth time in the Viking Ship in Hamar. Over 5,000 youngsters to play, play and have a socializing through Easter weekend.

– In the job interviews I’ve been in, so have The Gathering been an attractive topic of conversation every time, and it takes the lion’s share of time in job interviews. There is clearly a great value for me to have it on my resume, says Peter Blakstad.

Steep learning curve

Inside the Viking Ship in Hamar is placed ready between 12-15 mil with cables. Promoter expects about 10,000 units to be connected to the network. Peter Blakstad believes success lies in the way that The Gathering is structured.

– The Gathering has been so that you have the ability to move around within the “crew”, if you are motivated for it, to learn something new. – A fantastic recruitment place

And it is not only employers who look at Gathering participants as interesting.
Simon McCallum, head of the bachelor’s program in game development at GUC, says that he sees the event as a unique opportunity to get in touch with young creative people he wants to study.

– The Gathering is an excellent place for a wide range of data people. To us it is a fantastic recruitment place. The leading nations in computer and games in different environments located here. There are those people who think of games and who live to play. And it’s those guys I’m interested in talking to, says McCallum.



Calm before the storm: how it looked in the Viking Ship before The Gathering opened today. The organizers have stretched 12 to 15 mil with cables estimate that about 10,000 units will be connected to the network.
