Google accused of abusing market dominance in Europe by its downgrade hits from competing search engines.
– I’m worried that the company in violation of EU competition rules have given an unfair advantage to its own service, says competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager after having sent a formal complaint to the Americans.
– Google has now the opportunity to convince the Commission to the contrary. But if the investigation confirms our concerns, Google stand legally accountable and change business method in Europe, she said.
Google has now ten weeks to respond to the complaint from the Europeans. Without a solution risks online giant billion large fines.
