yesterday was the Oculus Connect 3 kicked off with a comprehensive press conference.

the Company showed off the new Touch controllers and they also talked about a very exciting project, called “Santa Cruz”.
as of now is VR headsets like the Rift, Vive and Gear VR on a PC or smartphone for work, but Santa Cruz is working on its own.
Several manufacturers have already tried with PC-backpacks designed for VR gaming.

the Oculus' exciting VR project is possibly the next step for the VR when it is completely wireless. Engadget is one of the publications that have been tested the headset and places Santa Cruz between the Rift and the Gear VR – only that Santa Cruz is more powerful than the latter.
While the Rift has external sensors that detect the movements of the player, these are directly integrated in the Santa Cruz prototype.
As you can see in the video below, see the headset almost like Rift. However, the section on the back a little bigger and it is most likely that, where the important hardware sits.
