BMW has for each of the cars that covers most needs, in the price range from 249.000 (i3) to 2.1 million (X6 M). Somewhere in between there is a drøss with models, including the 3-series.
three years ago came BMW with the 3-series GT, a higher and more practical 3-series. Already now faceliften on the street.
3 series is basically a pretty narrow car, but the GT is based on a car designed for the chinese market, and the “big” chinese people love as is well known, extra leg room in the back seat. GT has 11 cm larger wheelbase and is 19 cm longer than a regular 3-series. It does wonders for the space for those sitting on the second row. Here, there is no need to sacrifice your knees to get the space.
Also, the trunk is spacious. It takes 520 litres, which is 25 litres more than the station wagon can. Loading is easy by the fact that the tailgate is great. Here it is just to upload.
There is an advantage or disadvantage, depending, is that you sit considerably higher in a 3-series GT than a 3-series. With faceliften have recline been higher. It’s not just the SUV height, but enough to get you a little higher from the ground. Are you that BMW drivers the most keen to run as fast as possible through the bends, thus, a regular 3-series be a better choice.
GT aspire towards the ever-growing crossover segment. With 2 cm of extra ground clearance (16.5 cm) and the xDrive four-wheel drive the car has properties that begin to approach the SUV-one, without getting too lofty.
the GT has been through a facelift, but one must be know in order to see what is new. The design has been modernized, including new LED lights front and rear, hekkskjørt and fatter exhaust pipes.
3-series GT has a somewhat controversial design. Some will think it is more bulky than a regular 3-series or a 3 series Grand Tourer, but we think it works.
We drove the 320d with the well-known rekkefireren at 190 horsepower. It feels powerful enough. Maximum torque is 400 Nm. Caveat is that the engine could have been more cultured. (U)the sound from the diesel engine is not to be mistaken, especially not when you fire up a cold car. The top speed on the highway you look forward, however, over the forces.
The great advantage in relation to the bensinutgavene is that you get a much lower consumption. In theory, snittforbruket combined driving for a 320d 0,45 litre on mila, while bensinutgaven 320i uses 40 per cent more.
Oddly enough, also has dieselutgaven lower NOx emissions than the variant with petrol. It is NOx, which creates local air pollution.
Behind the ratter the BMW-feeling for all the money. Here, there are absolutely no surprises. Why should it it? BMW has a first-class operator’s environment. Then there is no point to change anything.
director of Communications Marius Tegneby at BMW says that around 20 percent of 3-series customers choose the GT version, while Touring stands for 60 percent. The rest buy the sedan, strongly driven by the plug-in variant 330e iPerformance.
We think that the more potential BMW customers should consider the 3-series GT. It is in a separate class plassmessig and is that the BMW is the most a kjøremaskin.
