Microsoft’s first desktop computer – DinSide

At a press conference in New York on Wednesday night, Norwegian time, went Microsoft the veil off its first desktop PC, Surface Studio.

like the Apple iMac, this is an all-in-one PC, but where the Apple’s screen is thicker towards the middle, Microsoft have chosen to add your hardware in the close the base and body. It makes that the screen itself is very thin – just 12.5 mm above the waist.

It is also touch sensitive and can be used with the Surface Pen; the stylus that is also used on the other Surface machines.

Can be angled and lowered

Microsoft delivers without a doubt, designers and other creative professionals with this machine. With one hand you can easily change the angle of the screen thanks to what Microsoft has called “Zero gravity hinge”.

the Screen is 28 inches across the diagonal and has a resolution of 4.500×3.000 pixels, or just over 60 per cent more pixels than a 4K display.

On the back of the foot sits, there are four USB 3.0 connectors, SD card reader, mini Displayport output, 3.5 mm output and network port. As it should it has also, of course, support for WiFi (802.11 ac).

Maskinvaremessig can Surface Studio be configured with the 6. – generation Core i5 and i7 processors from Intel, 8/16/32 GB of memory, 1TB or 2TB hybriddisker and the GeForce GTX 965M or 980M graphics card.

Inexpensive is the dog not, with a starting price of 3,000 dollars (close to 25,000 million) in the united STATES. Vibeke Hansen, communications director of Microsoft in Norway, have no information about whether the Surface Studio (or the other products discussed below) is launched in Norway.

the Control with the Surface Dial

Surface Dial is also a new device from Microsoft. This is a cylindrical case that can be added on the screen to interact with your computer in a whole new way.

the Video below shows some ways it can work:

Upgraded Surface Book

Land Book was Microsoft’s first notebook PC that was released in the last year. It has not yet been launched in the Norwegian market, but we had tried it on a trip across the atlantic last year.

the”Surface book with performance base”, which Microsoft is calling the new models, now come with 6. generation Intel Core i7 processors, and with twice as fast grafikkbrikke as the previous generation.

battery life will also be greatly improved; now with the 16-hour stated battery life.

New Windows update right over christmas

In the summer came Microsoft with the big “anniversary”update of Windows 10, one year after the operating system was released for the first time.

Early in 2017 comes the next big update, which the company this time has chosen to call “the Creator update”.

REFURBISHED CLASSIC: Soon will come the 3D version of Paint, Paint 3D. Photo: Microsoft View more

Here are the 3D which seems to be the biggest focus. The old classic Paint (drawing program) is upgraded, then, to Paint 3D, which allows users to create 3D models on a seemingly simple way.

Hand in hand community Remix3D.com where one can share their creations and build on other people’s creations.

Such 3D models will also be supported widely in the operating system; for example, in Office applications, where, for example, in Powerpoint will be able to take a 3D model, rotate it as you wish or make an animation of it rotating, which then appear in the presentation.

Paint 3D you can try already now if you sign up for the Windows Insider program.

VR and mixed reality

the Update will also make it possible to experience the so-called “Mixed reality”, so you may have seen in the past, when Microsoft demonstrated Hololens.

Both HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus and Acer are coming with VR-glasses that can be used with Windows, and give you a Hololens experience where computer graphics combined with the real world, i.e. what Microsoft calls “Mixed reality”.

MORE VR: In the next update get Windows 10 support for so-called “Mixed reality”, where you can take on the VR glasses and get the computer graphics projected on the real world. Photo: Microsoft View more

for other news in the next Windows 10 update is that it will be easier to send the video of that one player, and that your favourite contacts can be added down on the taskbar so that it is easy as pie to drag a link, a file or the like over a person and share things directly.
