Nintendo shows off its latest game console – the Newspaper.en

That Nintendo worked with her heir to the Wii U was no secret. The project has long passed under the name of NX, but otherwise there has been very little official information to retrieve from Nintendo on the console.

But on Thursday relieved the on the veil and released a trailer that presents the final product, which now goes under the name “Nintendo Switch”.

Multi-purpose

the Name refers is revealed in the nifty option my computer has to switch between handheld and desktop. A sort of Wii U, and DS in one.

By connecting the computer to a docking station in the living room you get to play on the TV such as one is accustomed to from the earlier. But if you want to continue the game on the bus, so you should apparently simply just lift the monitor out of the docking station and attach the removable Joy-Con-controllers on each side of the screen.

the Video also shows that the Joy-Con-controllers to be used wirelessly separated from the screen, and two people will also be able to play along with a half of control each.

the Possibility that more people can play together wirelessly with each of their devices is also obviously a point to get up in the launch.

Furthermore, we see in the video that it should also be possible to connect on a different, more traditional type of control, which of course also is wireless.

New Mario

When it comes to games we can only sit us at the small glimpses we got to see in the trailer.

“The Legend of Zelda: the Breath of the Wild” was a central part of the presentation.

The newly refurbished version of Skyrim also received a good deal of attention. A game genre which is not exactly redolent of the brand we know from before, but that perhaps is a sign that Nintendo also wants to embrace a wider audience.

Furthermore, we saw that “Splatoon” is further on the Switch, and also, of course, the classic “Mario Kart” now has come all the way up at number 8. Whether these only come in the updated versions or completely new games are also currently uncertain.

In a few seconds, we were also seeing something that might indicate that a plumber can more than to drive go-carts, in something that looks like a whole new Mario-game.

the VR on hold

Although Nintendo has previously mentioned that they are looking at the possibility of VR in the time ahead, we got not any evidence that Nintendo Switch have support for this yet. In each case, they have not chosen to display this out in the first sniktitten.

The same applies to the technical specifications that even allow the wait on themselves. The launch date was set to march 2017, so we hear plenty more from Nintendo about the details of the not so long.
