DRAMMEN: During Saturday morning and afternoon, police in Buskerud received over 20 calls from people who have been called by fraudsters.
Operations Truls Fjeld at Southern Buskerud Police District said that it feeds on with inquiries from people who have received a call from scammers.
– From 08 o’clock to watch 12 we have at least received 20 inquiries from people who are trying defrauded. There are English-speaking people who claim that they are from Microsoft and will help them with computer problems, says Fjeld to dt.no
Those who operasjonsslederen in Drammen have talked to, told they smelled fuse and realized that they have been subjected to a scam.
– One woman dialed quickly realized it was a scam, when she did not even have computers, says Operations Manager.
Police urge people who are called by swindlers to cancel the call.
– This is scam, so my advice is to put on, says Fjeld.
The fraudster called the police
Dram Tidende wrote earlier this week about Øyvind Stromme (70) who had received multiple caller from someone on poor English said they were Microsoft and said they would help him with computer problems.
The caller was in reality fraudsters who tried to hack his computer. Friday did swindlers a proper blister. They called namely police in Asker and Bærum.
– We have just been called by “Microsoft”. The lady said we had problems with our computers. We have not. Fraud Attempts. We leave on, writes police on Twitter.
Magne Olsvoll police tells budstikka.no that it was a woman’s voice, as in broken English said he probably had big problems with my computer.
– It sounds like the person on the other end reads from a note, in which she or he is sitting somewhere out in the world and trying to trick us, saying Olsvoll to Budstikka.
Called several times
Øyvind Stromme let himself nor deceive and leave when they called – not just once, but several times.
– There were different people each time. They said they were calling from Microsoft, and would help me to get rid of problems they believed I had as a result of hacking. They were quite insistent and said it was very important for me and for Microsoft that these problems were resolved. They talked with my son too, and wanted us to sign us into a website which they said was Microsoft’s. But we did not any of this, says Stream.

Distraught
He and his son is far from the only ones who have been called by scammers claiming to be from Microsoft. Also an elderly lady from Hillside tells the same story.
– I have received anonymous call several times each day in recent weeks. I usually do not answer unknown calls, but eventually I did. Then there was a lady who started babbling. I asked what it was and then she said that there were problems with the PC. I pretended I did not know, shouting traitor is a traitor in English. Then she let on, says pensioner.
People across the country are several years been called by people who say they are from Microsoft and will help them against hacker attacks, but really they are fraudsters.
Microsoft advice
Microsoft has made some advice against telephone fraud, and where they emphasize inter alia, that Microsoft is not doing surveillance, and never take unsolicited contact with customers about problems with specific machines.
