This fete MacBook feature Apple has kept absolutely secret – ITavisen.no

Nice surprise in the new Air models.

Apple has a habit of highlighting cool features in their products, but when they pulled the veil of their new Macbook Air models, there was one thing they failed to tell: they support 4K displays.

This possibility was first discussed by Ars Technica, who has also tested the system.

The website claims that connect Macbook Air to a 4K screen works surprisingly well, although the processor can get a bit maligned if labor becomes too intense.

Not quite optimal

“The short answer is that both Macbook Pro and Air now has 4K support at 60Hz, using a DisplayPort 1.2 cable» writes Ars Technica.

But, says the website; it does not work optimally. Running the game, for example, one can experience that “chimes” perhaps sharply, especially if it runs in full screen mode.

This is probably the reason why Apple has highlighted 4K support themselves. However, if you want to try it is thus nothing to stop it.
