Now Android will be even better – DinSide

Your page In June last Google I / O, Google’s annual developer conference, held. Traditionally, this has also been the arena where developers have got the first look at the next version of Android, as was the case last year.

Android N Google has been faster on the spot. This week was in fact the first version of Android 7.0 released to developers, that is the same week as manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony have begun to roll out the current version of their handset.

Nutella?

We have to wait until autumn to know what N stands for. Android has a tradition of naming the major upgrades for desserts and sweets. While K stood for KitKat (America’s answer to Snappy Lunch), L stood for Lollipop and M stood for Marshmallow, it is still not clear what the N stands for in the next round. However, in this Medium-post from Android team is given a perhaps too powerful hint:

So, the burning question that’s on everyone’s mind: what will the N release be named? We’re nut tellin ‘ you yet.

Just preview

N version which is now made available to developers is the the first preview for developers. There is not very much new functionality that has been announced yet, but there will be plenty more points on the list when the new version is released to the public, which we anticipate happening in the fall, before phone manufacturers like to spend a few months to update their phones.

This is the most important news in Android N preliminary:

Multiple windows
in the next version of Android will be possible to run two apps side by side, both phone and tablet.

Developers can choose whether their app can be used in this mode and specify a minimum resolution they need. This is something among other Samsung already baked into its Touchwiz system and which became possible on the iPad in iOS9.

Better notifications
Firstly, it now possible to respond to a notice directly from the notification bar (that you pull down from the top), and developers can now collect notifications from the same app so they do not take up more than one space in the notifications area, for example, if you’ve got Messenger messages from several of Facebook contacts.

As before, you can then swipe two fingers down on an alert to see more – in this case all the calls you have received notification. Besides, in these cases a button you can press to see all your notifications from an app.

Better battery with Doze
Doze was one of the features that were launched in Marshmallow, and which ensures that the phone uses less power when not in use; For example, when it is set on a table or the like. This feature is now even more effective because it strikes the screen turns off, so Doze also will work in his pants pocket.

picture-in-picture
on Android TV devices is now possible with picture-in-picture features when watching video. Thus, for example, you see a YouTube video in a window while using other Android TV applications.

TVs with Android will also have the opportunity to record and pause TV broadcasts.

data Saver
By enabling data saving mode the phone will use less mobile data. Background data disabled and active apps will use less data by streaming with lower bitrate, reduce image quality, drop optimistic pre-caching and such.

Better performance
Some of the technical but Android N comes with a JIT compiler (just in time) to ART, which in practice will make startup time, updates and app installations faster, in addition to the apps will occupy less working memory (RAM).
