Instagram will reorder the images – NRK

Instagram is about to go through major changes. Now, photo sharing service use algorithms to customize their feed on the basis of interests and relationships, rather than to display images in chronological order.

Most importantly top

Today, all images to the you follow in the order they were posted in. But in a blog post tells Instagram that this is a system they are considering scrapping. They complain that Instagram users do not realize 70 percent of the images posted in feed theirs.

– As Instagram has become larger, it becomes more difficult for users to keep track of everything that is published there . This means that many do not realize postings from people they care most about, they write.

Instagram will change your feed. Instead of having to watch every holiday picture from distant acquaintances, an algorithm make a choice for you. Likes-heavy pictures of celebrities and pictures of those you interact with most, will lie on top. In addition, Instagram sort images that match your interests into your feed.

Decline in interaction

So goes Instagram same way as its own Facebook. Also Twitter has introduced an algorithm that lets you see posts they fear you might have missed since the last time you logged on. Twitters changes have resulted in demonizing campaign #RIPTwitter.

Instagram was launched in October 2010 and currently has 150 million registered users. But despite a continued large increase in the number of users, the underlying figures indicate that existing users are starting to go a little tired of the image service. Interaction sank namely by 40 percent last year, according to an analysis that is referred to the technology site VentureBeat.

The changes in service will happen in a few months.
