Now the construction of the giant field in time – TU

Johan Sverdrup building is now officially underway, according to Statoil today.

The fabrication of the first building blocks for Johan Sverdrup project began on Monday 29 June.

According to Statoil, it was burning operator Stian Myrvold Green at Kvaerner started the machine that will cut up the steel to what will be the jacket into a riser platform on the Johan Sverdrup field.

Why Sverdrup as important

Sverdrup field is seen as a kind of rescue by the Norwegian oil adventure. In a period where the oil industry was billed as a sunset industry, came Sverdrup field with surprising results in a very mature area.

Install in 2017

– The jacket is not the only piece of the Johan Sverdrup under construction. – We have a plan to start production on Johan Sverdrup in late 2019. We are now working on the construction of the first building blocks of the project according to plan, says Thick.
