Valve developer believes Rift is a copy of Vive. (Ill .: Oculus) – ITavisen.no

Comes with strong accusations.

The battle for the virtual reality throne is aggressive between Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and the respective companies do their best to win over new customers.

Copy
Now it appeared sensational allegations made by Valve employees Alan Yates on Oculus Rift headset. Valve works as familiar with HTC about Vive.

In a post on Reddit more or less accuses Yates Oculus to be a copy of HTC Vive:

“[...] Each core function both Rift- and Vive- HMDS taken directly from Valve’s research program. Oculus has their own CV-based tracking implementation and fresnellinsedesign, but on the other hand, CV1 a direct copy of the architecture of 1080p Steam Sight prototype Steam borrowed to Oculus when we installed a replica of “Valve Room” at their headquarters. I would call Oculus first SteamVR-licensee, but history will perhaps use a different term for it, “writes Yates.

It is unclear whether it him actually says is 100 percent true and Oculus has yet to be answered accusations.

While Oculus barred app that allows you to play Rift game at Vive, they opened up for VR piracy by accident.
