Almost a year ago we were able to report that Google itself builds mobile, codenamed “Project Ara,” had problems and would be exposed. The plan was the first versions have arrived in sales in Puerto Rico as early as autumn 2015, but after the postponement was launched suddenly in 2016:

Now, we have come quite far in 2016, without any module telephone has shown his face. What’s up? Yes, according to Engadget, Google has now gone out with new information, claiming the developer version will land in the current year.
Then, the consumer version rolled out in full in 2017, so that both you and I and neighbor can provide us a phone where we easily be popping out each part and replace it at our discretion.

mechanical fasteners due to magnetic problems

This information was published by Google on their ongoing developer conference, Google I / O 2016. Everything is thus possible for Project Ara will actually manifest itself in the form of a phone where you can pop into new parts of various kinds. New camera? Zero problem. Poor battery? Insert a bigger!
Well, in theory, at least. Initially it seems, according to Engadget appears to be scant access to new modules, but more manufacturers -eksempelvis Sony and Toshiba – allegedly the bandwagon to produce such.

in the beginning it will be also “only” six module slots on the framework, but in the future it will be possible to create smaller modules and thus attach more in the same area. All new modules will also be backwards compatible.
However, they will not be attached with magnets, such as first thought. It was shelved laying of magnets that caused the delay in the first place, because they simply have not kept the parts together well enough. Therefore, fasteners now be mechanical.
The modules are further been flatter than before, and the whole phone looks more exclusive out. It shall be possible to remove modules while the phone is running, provided they actively ejected through the phone menus. Or possibly use “OK Google” function to pop them out, if you will.
Anyway, you will know more, then you can see Google’s own presentation video below:
We have already tested the world’s first modular phone:
TEST: fair phone 2 is a fair mobile you can repair itself “
